Abstract
A monoacetylated pentahydroxylated sterol has been isolated from the soft coral Asterospicularia randalli collected at Guam Is. in the Pacific. The unusual feature of this sterol is the presence of a hydroxyl group at C-22. The structure was determined by spectral analyses of the new sterol and several transformation products. Proton-carbon correlated spectra were used to make 13C chemical shift assignments.Entities:
