Problems of health manpower development in obstetrics.

D V Fairweather.

Abstract

The responsibility of obstetricians in encouraging the best use of available resources--both people and material--is addressed, stressing the need to "articulate" all components of the health team to bring about better coverage in the field of community and family health, especially maternal and child health care. The particular problems of developed countries where consumer demands call for review of obstetric care provision and training programmes are also discussed.
