Abstract
Phenothiazines--trifluoperazine, chloropromazine and ethmozine-- inhibit the sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca-ATPase from skeletal and cardiac muscles of the rabbit. The inhibition constants for both preparations are of the same order of magnitude. The experimental data suggest that the effect of phenothiazine on the sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca-ATPase is not mediated by CaM, but is directed toward the enzyme molecule.Entities:
