[The changing picture of ski accidents. Evaluation of ski injuries during the 1981/1982 Winter in Bavaria].

During the last few decades a great change has taken place in the patterns of ski injuries. This could be shown by an evaluation of the ski accidents of winter 1981/82 in Bavaria. These accidents were compared with those of winter 59/60 in the same area. We found a significant increase in serious injuries, injuries of the head, the knee joints and the upper extremities. This is demonstrated by four cases. Consequences are discussed to improve the management of seriously injured skiers.
