Family history and CSF homovanillic acid pattern during neuroleptic treatment.

Abstract

In 24 patients receiving neuroleptics, the 11 patients whose CSF homovanillic acid showed no tolerance to neuroleptics at 1 month had significantly more residual symptoms, extrapyramidal side effects, and history of psychiatric hospitalization in first-degree relatives.
