Abstract
A 46,XX male (his condition ascertained through evaluation for infertility) underwent clinical, cytogenetic, and endocrinologic analyses, testicular biopsy, and had his permanent tooth sizes measured. The physical examination showed that the patient was smaller than normal and XXY males. The histologic picture was in accordance with well-known characteristics and meiotic analysis revealed no cells in division. The permanent tooth sizes were smaller than male controls. This finding suggests that the genes responsible for the testis-determining factor are present and that the genes influencing tooth size are absent in this patient.Entities:
