Hepatic first-pass effect of thiazinamium methylsulfate (N-methylpromethazine methylsulfate) in dogs.

J H Jonkman, H G Westenberg, E Van Der Kleyn.

Abstract

Plasma concentration-time curves are described for the intravenous infusion and portal vein infusion of the quaternary ammonium compound thiazinamium methylsulfate to dogs. Comparison of areas under the curve indicate that hepatic first-pass elimination occurred on the order of 25--50%.
