Abstract
A subgroup of Athabascan Indians in Arizona and New Mexico was found to have an unusually high incidence of severe combined immunodeficiency, probably due to founder effect. Closed genetic pressures have limited their histocompatibility-antigen heterogeneity, enabling 3 patients to be grafted, 2 of them across HLA-B locus barriers.Entities:
