Two oral beta-adrenergic stimulant drugs, pirbuterol and salbutamol, in reversible airway obstruction.

A J Dyson, A D Mackay.

Abstract

Pirbuterol and salbutamol capsules were compared in a multi-centre, double-blind, crossover study. Pirbuterol 10 mg four times daily and salbutamol 4 mg four times daily produced a similar increase in peak expiratory flow rate, matched by the patients' subjective appreciation of decreased beathlessness. Both drugs produced the same incidence of tremor.
