Value of intravenous digital subtraction angiography to demonstrate hypervascular endocrine tumors: report of two cases.

Abstract

We describe two cases of hypervascular, endocrine tumors demonstrated by intravenous digital subtraction angiography (IV DSA), the first an insulinoma in the head of the pancreas and the second a pheochromocytoma of the left-side adrenal gland. The limitations of IV DSA to reveal these tumors is considered as well as the possible value of the modality as a screening procedure for endocrine neoplasms.
