Abstract
Fighting behavior, leading to the establishment of stable dominant-subordinate relationships between pairs of males, is described for the cockroach Nauphoeta cinerea. Deaths, which do not appear to be due to external damage, occur in subordinate animals as a result of fighting. The situation is likened to death from stress as found in mammals.Entities:
