Abstract
Isolated perfused rat hearts exposed to increased calcium concentrations demonstrated a marked activation of phosphorylase, the maximum occurring about 15 seconds after the peak of the positive inotropic response. These observations provide an explanation for the failure of earlier investigations to demonstrate a significant calcium-induced increase in the active form of phosphorylase in the intact heart.Entities:
