Visuoperceptive deficits in long-term alcoholics and alcoholics with Korsakoff's psychosis.

N Kapur, N Butters.

Abstract

Compared with control subjects, alcoholics with Korsakoff's psychosis were significantly impaired in performance on the digit-symbol subtest of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale and in four tasks assessing related processes. Other alcoholics showed similar, but not as severe, visuoperceptive deficits when compared with controls.
