Conus medullaris syndrome following multiple intrathecal corticosteroid injections.

F L Cohen.

Abstract

Few serious complications have been associated with the intrathecal administration of corticosteroids in the treatment of lumbar radiculopathy. This case of conus medullaris syndrome, which occurred coincident with multiple intrathecal steroid injections, suggests a more cautious approach to the treatment of benign disease by this method.
