Abstract
All cases of carcinoma of the thyroid gland diagnosed at two large hospitals in Sacramento during the 15 year period 1951-1965 were studied. Of the 232 cases diagnosed, 179 or 77.2 percent were papillary carcinoma. It was possible to trace 94 percent of all the patients, with a median follow-up of 6.5 years, and no deaths due to papillary carcinoma of the thyroid were found. The extent of operation did not appear to influence the course of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid.Entities:
