Abstract
The authors present 26 cases (28 eyes) of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, lasting more than 6 months, in which retinal telangiectasias appear in the periphery of the retina as a secondary phenomena, seemingly related to hypoxic factors. A comparison is made with a control group of 25 cases of longstanding retinal detachment taken at random in order to establish statistical differences. Considerations regarding their pathogenesis and their value as a prognostic sign are made.Entities:
