Abstract
Of 179 consecutively born single infants whose birth weights were below the twenty-fifth percentile for gestational age, four were hypoglycemic in the first 18 hours of age with true blood glucose levels of 17 mg. per 100 ml. or less. All four had symptoms referable to the respiratory system and the two deaths were from pulmonary causes.Entities:
