Partial chondrectomy and subchondral bone drilling for chondromalacia.

J C Childers, S C Ellwood.

Abstract

Twenty-nine knees in 25 patients with chondromalacia patella resistant to conservative treatment were subjected to localized chondrectomy and subchondral bone plate drilling. Good or excellent results were achieved in most patients under the age of 30. The results in patients over the age of 30 were less satisfactory.
