Abstract
A conformational model of monovalent cation transport in mitochondria is described. Because it incorporates the proton-generated membrane potential and pH differential of the chemiosmotic model, the model successfully rationalizes a wide variety of mitochondrial ion-transport phenomena.Mesh:
