Abstract
Serum triglyceride levels were measured in 10 partially gastrectomized patients after an oral fat load of 100 g. Postprandial triglyceride elevation was completely blocked by somatostatin infusion. This depression cannot be an effect of delayed gastric emptying, because all our patients were Billroth-II operated, but is considered to be due to a direct effect of somatostatin of intestinal absorption.Entities:
