Abstract
In a study of 51 patients with a history of blunt abdominal trauma, peritoneal tap and lavage made a positive contribution to the diagnostic process in 15 cases. Thirteen patients had early definitive operation on the basis of tap and lavage evidence which overruled the clinical evaluation, and two patients were managed conservatively when a negative tap and lavage contradicted the clinical decision.Entities:
