The electrosensitivity of the lateral line of the European eel, Anguilla anguilla L.

Abstract

The lateral line neuromast of the eel (Anguilla anguilla) are slightly sensitive to electric current (threshold current density about 1 x 10(-6) A/cm2). A comparison is made with threshold values found by several authors by means of conditioning experiments.
