Abstract
The intercellular junctions that occur in the hypodermis, Gené's organ, and the salivary glands of the tick, B. microplus, are described. The epithelial cells of the hypodermis are connected by spot desmosomes and septate junctions and the secretory cells of Gené's organ by septate and gap junctions. The cap cells in the alveoli of the salivary gland connect to adjacent cells by gap junctions, hemidesmosomes and septate junctions into which microtubules are inserted.Entities:
