Cryo-ultramicrotomy after coating of the cut surface of the tissue block with carbon and metals before sectioning.

A Schiller, R Taugner.

Abstract

Working under improvised conditions it is shown that coating of the cut surface of a frozen tissue block with metal and carbon improves, when applied prior to each cutting, the sectioning properties and the handling of the subsequent ultrathin cryosection.
