Protective effect of selenite on nitrite toxicity.

T Masukawa, H Iwata.

Abstract

Selenite was found to decrease nitrite-induced mortality in a dose-dependent manner. Its effect seems to be due to its action in reducing methemoglobin formed by nitrite.
