Uptake of beta-galactosides by Escherichia coli at elevated atmospheric pressure.

N A Schlamm, O P Daily.

Abstract

Uptake of beta-galactosides by Escherichia coli was increased by pressurization to 68 atm. The increase appeared to be due to an effect on the beta-galactoside permeases.
