Abstract
A birefringent structure consisting of a mass of filaments, 100 to 125 angstroms in diameter, appears at certain times during the spreading of a BHK-21 cell in culture. It is involved in the formation of the birefringent streak found in fully spread cells. The structure may be in part responsible for various aspects of cell motility.Mesh:
