Abstract
Experimental portal-systemic shunting is accompanied by a reduction of the soluble brain proteins. Isoelectric focusing does not indicate any selective decrease of one particular protein or group of proteins. The reduction persists with sustained shunting. The interference with brain protein metabolism is compatible with a grossly normal behavior, alterness and locomotion.Mesh：
