Abstract
The effect of different periods of fasting on oral glucose tolerance was investigated in 33 subjects. It was found that glucose tolerance deteriorated as the fasting period became shorter. This effect was seen almost exclusively in subjects over 40 years of age. Only the fasting blood sugar was affected by the duration of the pretest fast in younger subjects.Entities:
