Aggregates of particles on the plasmalemma of striated muscle from a spider.

C Franzini-Armstrong.

Abstract

Aggregates of large intramembranous particles are described in the surface membrane of muscle fibers of a spider. The particles are continuous with extensions into the extracellular space, forming large complexes. No intramembranous particles are visible at sites of Z line attachment to the plasma membrane.
