Computed tomographic demonstration of intraarterial air following hepatic artery ligation.

W M Marks, R A Filly.

Abstract

A branching pattern of intrahepatic air is usually attributed to air within the portal venous or biliary system. A case of such a pattern is reported in a patient with hepatic adenoma who had recently undergone hepatic artery ligation. Possible mechanisms for this phenomenon are discussed.
