Alcohol-induced conditioned taste aversion in rats. Effect of concentration and prior exposure to alcohol.

M J Eckardt.

Abstract

The effects of prior opportunities to drink alcohol solutions on the subsequent production of conditioned taste aversion by the oral ingestion of alcohol were evaluated. The consumption of 5 and 7% alcohol solutions produced conditioned aversion; the consumption of 3% alcohol solution did not result in aversion. Prior exposure to alcohol did not alter the extent of the aversion.
