Birth weights of infants in the Cameroon grasslands.

J R Lewis.

Abstract

The mean birth weight of 8 071 indigenous singleton infants was 3 119 g. This may be an underestimate owing to some selective bias in the data. Nevertheless, this figure compares favourably with those from other developing countries and reflects the relatively good nutritional status of pregnant women in the area studied.
