Abstract
A 49-year-old man was submitted to neurosurgery for a cranio-pharyngioma. The lesion, which appeared to involve the antero-inferior wall of the third ventricle, caused lack of appropriate antidiuretic hormone (ADH) release in response to hypernatraemia and plasma hyperosmolality. The probable mechanism of this hypothalamic syndrome is suggested.Entities:
