Effects of radiation therapy on wound healing after mastectomy.

C Mansfield.

Abstract

There is increasing use of various forms of reconstructive surgery. This will mean that more patients with previously irradiated tissue will be subjected to these procedures. It is imperative that the surgeon and the radiation therapist collaborate in the management of these patients in order to avoid unneccessary injuries.
