Abstract
Six healthy young men sustaining femoral shaft fractures in traffic accidents were treated in pins-in-plaster. Complications included pintract infection (3/6), shortening, angulation (1), malrotation (2). Recasting and rehospitalization was frequent. These adverse experiences with this method of treatment of femoral shaft fractures should discourage its further use.Entities:
