Association of flexing and gliding in Flexibacter.

B Dayrell-Hart, R P Burchard.

Abstract

Nongliding mutants of Flexibacter FS-1 are unable to flex; revertants regain both forms of movement. A variety of conditions and treatments reversibly inhibit both gliding and flexing.
