Abstract
Adenosine-3', 5'-cyclic monophosphate (cyclic AMP) is essential for the synthesis of l-arabinose isomerase in Escherichia coli. Cyclic AMP appears to be required for the transcription of deoxyribonucleic acid into messenger ribonucleic acid (RNA), since the enzyme synthesis is not observed in induced cells to which cyclic AMP is added after messenger RNA synthesis is arrested by rifampin or after inducer removal.Entities:
