Relative chlorine resistance of poliovirus I and coliphages f2 and T 2 in water.

P C Shah, J McCamish.

Abstract

Phage f2 is markedly more resistant to chlorine in water than either poliovirus or coliphage T(2). Its potential use as an indicator of viral pollution is suggested.
