Sutures, incisions, and anastomoses.

W G Everett.

Abstract

The properties of different types of suture material are reviewed, with particular reference to the complications which may result from their use. The aetiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of wound dehiscence are discussed. The factors which are believed to be important in performing successful bowel anastomosis are considered.
