Long vs short-course antibiotic prophylaxis in cesarean section: a comparative clinical study.

O Ayangade.

Abstract

A comparative clinical trial of short-course and long-course ampicillin prophylaxis in cesarean section was completed at Ife University Teaching Hospitals Complex. The results demonstrate a decided advantage in using the short-course regimen in the various parameters measured. The study constitutes a significant advance in efforts to cut medical costs.
