Abstract

Autoradiographic and immunohistochemical experiments were conducted to study the action of thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) on the cell proliferation in 7--8-day monolayer culture or the rat adenohypophysis. There was an increase of the epithelioid and fibroblast-like cells of the S-period of the mitotic cycle 24 hours after the TRH treatment. There were no thyrotropin-positive cells labeled with 3H-thymidine.
