Abstract
Sarcosporidiosis was found to be the cause of a severe myositis in 3 fowls in Papua New Guinea and 2 in Australia. This represented 3.8% of a series of fowls examined in Papua New Guinea. The overall prevalence of infection in these birds was 45%. Both epidemiological and experimental evidence suggested that the dog was the definitive host for this particular type of sarcocyst.Entities:
