Abstract
Surgical correction of the undescended testis is frequently postponed beyond the optimal time, namely, 6 years of age.An accurate diagnosis of undescended testis may be made during the first year of life. Complications and mistakes arising from misdiagnosis of undescended testis and retracted testis may, therefore, be prevented by recording findings.The purpose of this article is to present the arguments in favour of early diagnosis and operative treatment of undescended testis, and to correct possible misconceptions.Mesh:
