Fine structure of poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid granules in a blue-green alga, Chlorogloea fritschii.

T E Jensen, L M Sicko.

Abstract

Granules characterized as poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid are described in Chlorogloea fritschii, a blue-green alga. They are generally spherical inclusions of slight electron density which are limited by a membrane approximately 3 nm in thickness.
