Abstract
An arrow poison prepared by traditional methods from Acokanthera schimperi in the Maasai plains of Kenya was shown to contain acolongifloroside K as its major active principle, as well as smaller amounts of ouabain and acovenoside A. The major cardenolide is the first identified "ouabain equivalent" from an East African arrow poison.Entities:
