Life-cycle and physiological description of the yeast-form of the homobasidiomycete Asterophora lycoperdoides (Bull.: Fr.) Ditm.

Abstract

The life-cycle and taxonomically important properties of the yeast-form of Asterophora lycoperdoides (Nyctalis asterophora Fr.) were investigated. This yeast resembles representatives of some genera of basidiomycetous and imperfect yeasts, especially with respect to some biochemical characteristics.
