A transverse fracture through the body of the axis. A case report.

N J Maki.

Abstract

Fractures of the axis most often involve the neural arches (Hangman's fractures) or the odontoid. Few articles describe fractures involving the body of the axis. No article nor standard fracture text was found that illustrates a transverse fracture through the body.
