[Indications and results of shoulder arthrodesis and concomitant myoplastic interventions. Follow-up of 60 patients].

J Pfeil, A K Martini.

Abstract

From 1949 until 1980 sixty shoulder arthrodeses were performed at the orthopedic department of Heidelberg university. During this period of time a change concerning indication and operative method took part. The increasing number of severe motor cycle accidents with partial injuries of the brachial plexus during the last years makes additional myoplastic operations necessary. The ideal position of the arthrodesis is demonstrated as well results of long term follow ups are repeated.
