[Treatment of laryngeal cancer].

T Sato.

Abstract

From 1958 to 1984, 2000 patients with cancer of the larynx were treated in our clinic. Irradiation therapy of full dose was the treatment of first choice for T1 cancers. Partial laryngectomy was indicated for T2 cancers. For T3 and T4 cancers, total laryngectomy followed by the voice therapy of esophageal speech was performed. 10-year relative survival rate in total 2000 cases of laryngeal cancer was 74%.
